Cabinets

On Tuesday, the kitchen and bathroom cabinets were installed. The upstairs bathroom shower tiles have been started.

San Antonio River Walk

These are some pictures of the River Walk.  San Antonio has made the wise choice of investing heavily on the River Walk - it really is a must see.

Sunday Breakfast

We ate breakfast at the hotel, next to the river.  It was nice . . . then the pigeons attacked!

Saturday Lunch

For lunch we visited Mi Tierra Cafe, good food, but be prepared to wait.  It was super busy and we waited almost 40 minutes for a table.

Mission San Jose

This is one of the many missions in San Antonio, Texas -  This is still a working chapel.

Sydney's Meet the teacher

Yesterday, Sydney’s new school had a “Meet the Teacher” night.  This is an evening dedicated to returning students, where they can familiarize themselves with the school and find-out what home room they have been assigned to.  Sydney is a bit anxious since she is going to a new school and will not be surrounded by her old friends.

Bricks have been delivered

Twenty one palettes of brick have been delivered to the build site.

Interior paint

Wood work has been finished and painters are now painting the interior walls – looks like they should be done painting this week.

Putting on the primer

Yesterday I hired Tony and Skylar to help me prime the siding on our current house. I was surprised that they wanted to do it, I was even more surprised that they worked as hard as they did - I was very proud of both of them.
We spent all Saturday on this particular project, but we finally finished the entire house at 6 pm.

We were exhausted!

Wood work

On Friday I stopped by the house and the woodwork crew was at work. They are working on trim work, crown molding, stairs, interior doors, etc . . .

Astros game

Yesterday, some friends and I went to watch a baseball game - Astros against the The Braves.

Drywall

Drywall is now being installed. There is a crew of seven or eight people making quick work of it.

Insulation

Stopped by the house . . .

Insulation installation has been started and the drywall sheets have been delivered.

Sydney turns 8

Sydney’s birthday was on Saturday, July 31st.  She wanted a party at home so we put together a party with 8 of her closest friends.  Jennifer made her a Tinkerbell cake and created a great mixture of party games and activities.
